25,580 immigrants received PR via the Provincial Nominee Program in 2020
As of July 31, 2020, 25,580 immigrants received Canadian permanent residence via the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in 2020. Surprisingly, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) was not the most popular PNP so far. Ontario is only third, after the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) and the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). However, the final numbers of the year may be different. In the first seven months of the year, the number of PR admissions in the PNPs was the following:
- Newfoundland and Labrador - 265
- Prince Edward Island - 650
- Nova Scotia - 1,125
- New Brunswick - 950
- Ontario - 4,220
- Manitoba - 3,600
- Saskatchewan - 3,780
- Alberta - 5,060
- British Columbia - 5,825
- Yukon - 75
- Northwest Territories - 30
