Newfoundland and Labrador announced a new immigration path

On November 18, 2020, the government of Newfoundland and Labrador announced the new stream to be included in the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP). The Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador will serve to attract highly skilled and educated immigrants who possess work experience in technological occupations. The Priority Skills stream will be launched on January 2, 2021. The new pathway will target candidates in priority sectors such as information and communications technology, ocean technology, health care, agriculture, and aquaculture. For instance, Priority Skills will be available to Master and Ph.D. graduates of Memorial University who completed their studies in the past three years, individuals with one year of work experience in a high-demand occupation, as well as certain candidates who submitted their expression of interest under the NLPNP.
